Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team! Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and specialty dishes with attention to detail and presentation
- Select fresh ingredients and ensure proper storage to maintain quality and safety standards
- Operate sushi bar equipment efficiently, including knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Develop new sushi recipes and menu items that excite our guests and reflect current culinary trends
- Train junior team members on sushi techniques, knife skills, and food safety protocols
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, ingredient pairing, and presentation styles
- Culinary experience in high-volume kitchens with a focus on fresh seafood handling
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in menu development, recipe creation, or culinary innovation is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team
