Duties
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that adhere to Montessori curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, science, social studies, and physical education.
- Foster a classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, independence, and active participation among students with diverse learning styles and needs.
- Monitor student progress regularly through formative assessments, standardized testing data analysis, and ongoing observation to tailor instruction effectively.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop integrated curricula, share best practices, and support school-wide educational initiatives.
- Maintain detailed records of student performance data, behavior management strategies, and individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Communicate proactively with parents and guardians through conferences, written reports, and digital platforms to discuss student achievements, challenges, and developmental milestones.
- Incorporate educational technology tools and learning technology resources into daily instruction to enhance engagement and facilitate differentiated instruction.
Skills
- Proven experience teaching elementary school students within a Montessori setting or similar child-centered educational environment.
- Strong classroom management skills that create a positive learning environment conducive to exploration and growth.
- Expertise in curriculum development, implementation, and alignment with educational standards while respecting Montessori philosophies.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and students’ support teams.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and developmental needs of children.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and special education practices including working with children with autism or other special needs.
- Proficiency in using learning technology platforms for lesson planning, student progress monitoring, and parent communication.
- Experience in literacy education, math instruction, physical education teaching experience is highly valued.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate records of student performance data and compliance documentation.
