Job Summary
As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in managing and investigating incoming claims from Communication, Gas, and Electric clients across the United States. Your exceptional communication skills, diligence, and ability to multitask will ensure a seamless process for our clients on their path to claims recovery for property damage losses.
Key Responsibilities
· Primary Point of Contact: Act as the lead contact for clients, acknowledging damage events and performing initial remote and on-site assessments regarding event severity.
· Investigation & Research: Conduct thorough remote or field research and investigations of utility and communication damage.
· Regulatory Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of State One Call Laws and Statutes, excavator requirements, and NESC standards in all investigation work.
· Data Management: Collect and process investigation materials using proprietary software.
· Claim Monitoring: Maintain active monitoring of assigned claims and ensure final reports meet quality and time limits required for compliance.
· Internal Collaboration: Assist the Claims Recovery team with post-investigation tasks and collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient processing.
· Professional Networking: Develop professional relationships with clients, contractors, and personnel through regular communication and virtual meetings.
· Industry Expertise: Maintain a working knowledge of the entire claims process and stay up to date on industry developments, excavation processes, and related dig laws.
Requirements
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong report-writing capabilities; ability to communicate complex damage details in simple terms.
· Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and overall computer skills; ability to type approximately 50 WPM.
· Field Requirements: Ability to navigate uneven ground and construction areas; must be able to be outside for extended periods and walk across various terrains.
· Equipment & Tools: Ability to use locate equipment (with training) and a solid understanding of facility types and excavation equipment; familiarity with Google Maps and GPS.
· Remote Standards: Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision; must have reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace.
· Logistics: Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance, reliable transportation, and smartphone capabilities for claims dispatch and processing.
· Compliance: Ability to pass a complete background check and drug test.
· Experience (Preferred): Investigation experience and knowledge of the cable or utility locate industry is a plus.
