We are seeking a highly qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our MEP Engineering Division at our Atlanta, GA office. The ideal candidate will bring strong HVAC design expertise across a broad range of project types, including federal, healthcare, laboratory, and pharmaceutical facilities. This role requires a self-starter who can take ownership of their work while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors throughout the full project lifecycle.
Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and have 5 to 10 years of experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry. A Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred. Experience incorporating sustainable (LEED) design methods is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate in multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners.
Lead HVAC system design from conceptual phase through construction documents, including load calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and technical specifications.
Perform code analysis and ensure all designs comply with applicable local, state, and national mechanical codes and standards.
Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration.
Perform construction administration, including conducting field observations, preparing punch lists, reviewing shop drawings, and responding to RFIs.
Support project closeouts and ensure installations align with design intent and quality benchmarks.
Communicate proactively with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle, representing SETTY professionally in meetings, presentations, and site visits.
Translate technical concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders.
Other tasks as needed to ensure timely and thorough support to our clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals
5–10 years of experience in MEP design within the Facilities Design Industry
Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP required
Strong understanding of psychrometrics and HVAC fundamentals
Good communication skills essential for team-based working and client interaction — comfortable leading client calls, coordinating with consultants, and presenting design solutions
Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges

LEED AP or USGBC LEED Accreditation
Mechanical PE License
Experience or interest in sustainable design and high-performance buildings
