Responsibilities
- Stock shelves efficiently by organizing products, including produce, packaged goods, and other grocery items, ensuring accurate placement and attractive displays
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely to load, unload, and move inventory throughout the store or warehouse area
- Utilize RF scanners to accurately track inventory levels, process shipments, and update stock records in real-time
- Maintain inventory control by conducting regular stock checks, managing product rotation, and identifying stock discrepancies
- Assist customers with product inquiries, provide knowledgeable recommendations on grocery items, and support their shopping experience with excellent customer service
- Perform shipping and receiving duties by loading and unloading deliveries while adhering to safe lifting practices and manual handling procedures
- Keep the work environment clean and organized through routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning shelves, packaging products, and ensuring safety standards are met
Requirements
- Previous retail store experience or grocery store experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including the use of RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory effectively and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting techniques and manual handling guidelines
- Basic math skills for counting stock, processing transactions, and managing inventory records
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly attitude and a proactive approach to assisting shoppers
- Knowledge of merchandising standards, produce handling, packaging procedures, and retail sales principles is advantageous
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety protocols
