This role is focused on milling, material preparation, and shop support. You will work directly with the owners to prepare cedar components for custom sauna builds. This is not a factory job — it’s a craft-focused shop role with room to grow.
The right person is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working with wood and machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Milling & Material Prep (Primary)
- Mill Western Red Cedar stock using shop equipment (after setup)
- Rip, surface, thickness, and cut lumber to specified dimensions
- Batch-process standard sauna components
- Prepare oversized blanks for custom fitting
- Label, organize, and stage parts by project
Shop Operations
- Assist with material handling and lumber breakdown
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Support sanding and finish prep as needed
- Help track material usage per project
Quality & Safety
- Follow established build standards and tolerances
- Report defects, warping, or inconsistencies in material
- Adhere to all shop safety procedures
- Respect the quality expectations of a premium product
What You Will NOT Be Responsible For (At First)
- Design decisions
- Client communication
- Custom joinery or visible finish details
- Final assembly or installation

Qualifications (Preferred, Not All Required)
- Experience working in a woodshop, millwork shop, or similar environment
- Familiarity with woodworking machines (table saw, planer, jointer, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Comfortable lifting and handling lumber
- Pride in craftsmanship and quality work
