Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates for the position of Classroom Aide must possess the following minimum qualifications in order to be considered for the position:
- Have an interest in working with young children.
- Have a warm and friendly personality.
- Be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.
- Be able to relate well to children.
- Be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the church and childcare’s educational and spiritual philosophy.
- Have the ability to perform physical duties of the job without limitations.
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Obtain state mandated criminal background check.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in the care and education of a group of children as assigned, providing constant supervision and maintaining appropriate child to adult ratios at all times.
- Assist in preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
- Help with the general housekeeping tasks.
- Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities.
- Assist the teacher in any other appropriate ways.
- Maintain professional attitudes and loyalty to the church and childcare at all times. Keeping all student, staff, and family information confidential.
- Treat all children with dignity and respect, as unique individuals created by God.
- Attend all required training programs, conferences, and staff meetings.
- Participate in public-relation events sponsored by Eastern Heights Evangelical Lutheran Church and by Open Arms Lutheran Child Development Center.
