Overview
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our small manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in manual machining processes, CNC programming, and precision measurement. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with manufacturing equipment and contribute to high-quality production standards in a dynamic environment. Candidates should possess mechanical knowledge and experience with various machining tools and techniques.
Duties
- Operate CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to produce precise parts.
- Program CNC machines
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and cutting tools
- Use calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
- Conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications
- Maintain machine calibration and perform routine maintenance on shop equipment
- Utilize hand tools, power tools and tooling to assemble or modify parts as needed
- Follow safety protocols
- Assist with product improvement, engineering and production assembly.
Skills
- Minimum 3 years experience with manual lathe
- CNC programming and operation of milling machines
- Understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical drawings
- Familiar with CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and tooling setup
- Forklift operation is a plus
- Experience with purchasing, inventory control and working with vendors is a plus.
This position requires a dedicated individual capable of working in a manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical expertise across multiple machining disciplines while adhering to safety standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
