General Description
A ScenicView Skills Specialist provides direct service to teach skills and provide interventions under the direction of the Program Directors. They specialize in teaching life skills including budgeting, cleaning and hygiene, education, cooking, and transportation as defined by direct service curriculum. Life Skills Specialists report to the Live Program Manager.

Specific Duties
- Assist students in acquiring skills, as defined by Live Program Outcomes, using the Direct Instruction model
- Develop tools and curriculum to support teaching the Live Program Outcomes as assigned by the Program Manager
- Provide students with formal and informal assessments to gauge skills mastery and measure progress towards the Live Program Outcomes
- Evaluate pre and post assessment results and modify instruction as necessary
- Document skill development progress in a database
- Utilize Mentor Toolbox tools as needed to help students address challenging behaviors
- Make recommendations for students’ skill needs and scheduling to Service Coordinators
- Initiate skill development after receiving assignment and consulting with the Service Coordinator regarding student Transition Plan goals
- Continually update the student on their progress
- Collaborate with the Service Coordinator to recommend involvement of other specialists if additional interventions are required
- Consult with the Service Coordinator to create, alter, or amend student plans or schedules, with the understanding that the Service Coordinator will have final say in all student plans
General Description:
- Teach neurodiverse young adults (ages 18-35) with Level 1 Autism and related disabilities budgeting, cleaning and hygiene, education, cooking, and transportation and other subjects as needed for their personal independent living and vocational goals
- Provide 1-on-1 tutoring in budgeting and other life skills as required
- Provide preparation and support for students pursuing post-secondary education
- Utilize evidence-based best practices to effectively and efficiently empower students to lead independent, productive and fulfilling lives
- Specific Duties
- Use evidenced-based and differentiated instruction following the direct instruction model
- Provide curriculum-based assessments of student abilities and achievements
- Document student progress regularly
- Create lesson plans to provide individualized one-on-one and small group academic instruction
- Collaborate with students’ support teams
- Participate in a variety of interactions and activities that promote social skills
Qualifications:
- Special-education teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum preferred
- Ability to work well with students with learning differences
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a team of professionals
- Demonstrated openness, flexibility, friendliness, and willingness to learn

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
