This is a part-time position consisting of approximately 20-25 hours a week. The shift starts at 7:30 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m. This can vary slightly due to how many clients we have with us at a time.
We have a permanent, part-time kennel attendant position available. We are looking for an extremely reliable person that shares the same love for animals that we do, and who is dedicated to providing the best quality care for the pets that we have visiting with us. We also prefer someone with open availability, as the hours can fluctuate depending on our work load per week.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Have at least 1 year of work experience
- Have reliable transportation
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must undergo a background check
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Able to work varying shifts per week and be available on ALL weekends and holidays (these are our busiest times of the year)
Experience with animals is preferred, but not required.
Job responsibilities include:
- Thoroughly cleaning the indoor kennels
- Scooping and sanitizing the outdoor runs
- Feeding the animals
- Administering medication to the animals in pill, liquid, or injection form
- Exercising the animals daily in all forms of weather (rain, shine, and snow)
- Sweeping, mopping, doing laundry, and washing dishes
Playing with the animals is a large and very important part of the job, but it also involves extensive cleaning, bending, stooping, and crouching. You will be in direct contact with all breeds of dogs and cats with all different temperaments and quirks.
