Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fire Protection Project Manager/Estimator to lead and execute fire protection system projects from conception through completion. This role combines technical expertise with strong project management skills to ensure accurate cost estimation, efficient project execution, and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project estimates by reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents to accurately determine material requirements and labor costs.
- Manage the entire estimating process using industry-standard software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, ensuring precise pricing and cost control.
- Lead negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable contracts and pricing agreements that align with project budgets.
- Review construction drawings for fire protection systems, interpret technical details, and identify potential challenges early in the planning phase.
- Oversee project management activities including scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery of fire protection installations.
- Monitor project budgets continuously, implementing cost management strategies to control expenses without compromising quality or safety standards.
- Coordinate with construction teams on-site to ensure proper installation practices, adherence to safety protocols, and compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
- Prepare detailed proposals, bid packages, and scope of work documentation for new projects while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders throughout the process.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for reviewing construction drawings and estimating material requirements from blueprints.
- Strong negotiation skills to establish contracts, pricing agreements, and vendor relationships effectively.
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software for construction cost analysis.
- Extensive background managing construction projects as an estimator within the fire protection or broader construction industry.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and translate them into actionable estimates.
- Knowledge of Xactimate for insurance claims or related estimating tasks is a plus.
- Solid understanding of construction site operations, safety standards, and project management principles.
- Expertise in cost control techniques including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for construction projects.
- Familiarity with contracts management and legal considerations relevant to fire protection systems installation projects.

Pay: $54,530.31 - $100,000.00 per year
