Description of Job:
SnapCare is seeking an experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in North Carolina. This role supports a 9-bed PICU providing high-acuity pediatric critical care. The ideal candidate has strong pediatric critical care skills and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment delivering compassionate, family-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
- Perform detailed patient assessments and continuous hemodynamic monitoring
- Manage ventilators, ICP monitoring, and advanced pediatric life-support interventions
- Initiate and manage IVs, central line care, and catheterizations
- Provide tracheostomy care, tube feeding placement and management
- Assist with procedures including lumbar punctures and central line dressing changes
- Collaborate with pediatric intensivists and interdisciplinary care teams
- Accurately document patient care in the Cerner EMR system
- Float to Pediatric units and NICU as needed per facility policy
Qualifications:
- Active RN license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent pediatric or critical care RN experience
- Minimum of 1 year of recent PICU experience (required)
- Strong critical thinking and pediatric assessment skills
