Job Title: High School Boys Basketball Assistant Coach
Position Type: Part-Time; Basketball Season (November 16 to February 20) – 2026-2027 School Year
Reports To: Athletic Coordinator/Academy Principal
Salary: $2,400/season. Increase based on experience.
SUMMARY
This is a seasonal position. Loveland Classical Schools recognizes the integral role that athletic competition plays in developing our students into men and women of character and virtue. As such, it is expected that all coaches hold themselves to the same high standard of decorum and character that the entire faculty and student body of LCS adheres to.
Coaches are expected to thoroughly understand the rules, principles, and competitive strategies of the sport they coach. They are expected to be present at all in season practices, and at all games. Should a coach be unable to attend a game or practice, they are to make suitable arrangements in their absence. Coaches should be familiar with and comply with the faculty dress code for LCS.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend all daily (Monday-Friday) practices. Times fluctuate based on schedule from 3:45pm to 5:30pm, 5:30pm to 7:00pm or 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Games occur between 4pm and 9pm on Monday-Friday. Usually two Saturday morning tournaments during a season (Specific dates will be provided by the Athletic Coordinator). Exceptions to missing practice or game days can be made with prior approval.
- Assist with set up and take down of equipment for practices and games.
- Develop/improve athlete’s basic basketball skills.
- Assisting the head coach and 1st assistant coach with developing skills of student-athletes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED
- Coaching experience of middle school/ High School age athletics or alternative coaching experience
- Concussion Training or willing to obtain\CPR/First Aid Certified (preferred)
