New Berlin Hills Golf Course, located in New Berlin, WI, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a part-time Golf Shop Assistant! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Role Type:
Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)
Compensation:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Golf Professionals with the daily management of golf operations.
- Assists with golfer check-in and fee collection; controls and manages play; reconciles daily tee sheets.
- Assists in administering all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing.
- Promotes all club golf activities.
- Assists with maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop.
- Assists with maintaining proper records and billing of storage and lockers for membership.
- Assists golf professionals during tournaments and weekly games.
- Monitors all members' scores, reports handicapping to the USGA, and bills members.
- Follows established opening and closing procedures.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Skill:
- Must be motivated to thrive in the golf industry.
- Experienced in written and oral business communication.
- Experienced in computer use, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. Proficient in other applications, including email, internet, and database management.
- Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated with a desire to promote and market.
- Service- and customer-focused attitude.
- Maintains and promotes a positive professional image within the community.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- Some college or a college degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Previous golf course or retail experience preferred.
