Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservation bookings using restaurant reservation management systems.
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring proper seating and comfort while maintaining efficient table turnover.
- Assist servers by clearing and resetting tables promptly, supporting smooth service flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including side stations and service stations.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding guest needs, special requests, or seating arrangements via phone or in person, adhering to professional phone etiquette.
- Support food runners by delivering dishes from the kitchen to tables accurately and efficiently.
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure guest relations are positive through attentive service and friendly communication.
- Use POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process orders when needed, ensuring accuracy.
- Manage restaurant table management systems to optimize seating efficiency during busy hours.
- Assist with guest inquiries about menu items or restaurant policies, providing excellent customer service at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software and Toast POS systems.
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and guest relations experience, are essential for success in this role.
- Basic math skills are necessary for handling reservations, billing support, and order accuracy.
- Experience with food service operations, serving techniques, or hotel guest services will be considered a plus.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tables and guest requests efficiently in a lively setting.
