Part Time Team Member | Owl & Lark Cafe

We're hiring a team member to begin training in mid to late August as some of our college staff return to school. We do not hire high school students due to operating hours.
This is NOT a barista position. Our baristas are specialty coffee professionals with previous experience in espresso and latte art. If you have previous specialty coffee experience you may start as team member in this position and also work as a barista later on if needed with your skills.
Owl and Lark is a specialty coffee shop, serving coffee, tea, healthy food options, smoothies and cold pressed juice.
We're looking for someone who wants to become part of a close knit team and takes pride in doing the little things well.
What You'll Be Doing
- Greeting guests and taking orders at POS
- Preparing smoothie bowls, smoothies, toasts and salads
- Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen organized
- prepping fruit and ingredients
- restocking supplies
- maintaining a clean cafe throughout the day
- supporting the team wherever needed
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is reliable, kind, and takes pride in the little details. We value intention, integrity, loyalty, and thoughtful hospitality, and we're looking for someone who shares those values.
We rarely hire. Most of our team stays long term, our team has been with us over 3 years and more, many of our college staff return to work with us every school break as to why we never have summer openings. This opening exists because of change in school schedules not employee turnover.
Requirements
Please do not apply unless you meet ALL of the following:
Must be available Tuesday-Thursday and weekends( if you cannot work these days you will not be considered)
Must be available weekday mornings and afternoon. ( we close at 5pm)
Must be looking for a long term part time position
Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast paced environment
Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 30lbs
Bonus If You Have
- previous cafe, restaurant, bakery, or food experience
- knowledge and passion for specialty coffee
- food prep or kitchen experience
- a passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
