Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef/Kitchen Chef/Sushi Prep to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties
- Prepare fresh sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese specialties following established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by creating innovative sushi rolls and dishes that appeal to diverse tastes
- Handle food preparation tasks including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling sushi components with accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Support kitchen operations by organizing ingredients, managing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of orders
- Collaborate with team members to uphold high-quality food service standards and ensure customer satisfaction
- Participate in catering events or special functions as needed, delivering excellent service in various settings
Skills
- Proven experience in a culinary environment, particularly within the food industry or restaurant setting
- Strong knife skills for precise slicing and cutting of fish, vegetables, and other ingredients
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation techniques
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Excellent food preparation skills with an eye for detail and consistency
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth operations
- Knowledge of catering services, serving practices, and food industry standards
