Responsible for the coordination of assigned projects. Sets deadlines, monitors, and summarizes progress of projects thru (New Product Integration) NPI process. Prepares reports for unit managers regarding status of projects. Familiar with a variety of manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks, as assigned. Monitors the work of vendors.

Create project timelines, monitor, and report progress to unit Managers for all new products.
- Assure that the timeline of projects are maintained and met.

Understand customers requirements for processing of products.

Document control of customer engineering data.

Act as Engineering representative for Root Cause investigations and solutions, process improvement projects; Lean, Six Sigma, 6S and Kaizen.

Knowledge and awareness of the QAF Quality Policy and how it relates to the company and its customers.

Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to identify opportunities and improve department performance regarding Safety, Quality, and Productivity

Improve and maintain process control systems by working with all departments
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as required to drive variability reduction with customers and suppliers

Create, maintain, and improve standard work procedures and effectively communicate / train to instructions. Ensure instructions are readily available for use

Partner with Supervision to create, facilitate and maintain department training
- Lead Continuous Improvement efforts to improve safety, labor productivity and equipment utilization while reducing costs

Develop and implement Capital Expenditure requests for equipment and facility improvements that enhance department performance and / or reduce cost

Partner with Design Engineering and Sales on NPI efforts
- Partner with Quality and Engineering on ISO, AS and NADCAP compliance initiatives, including internal audits and external audit preparation

Work with purchasing and outside vendors to drive cost improvements regarding department supplies and inventory management

Minimum 5+ years of applicable experience in a manufacturing environment that can be applied to the products and processes used in the Aerospace Industry.

BS/BA (engineering discipline preferred) or equivalent work experience
-
Demonstrated abilities through work related experiences in manufacturing operations.

Working knowledge of a MRP or similar resource planning systems.
- General knowledge of metallurgy and metal working practices, machine shop, assembly and/or forging practices.

Knowledge of aerospace process specifications.

Working knowledge of reading, understanding, and application of customers purchase orders and blueprints.

Well versed in Microsoft applications, such as: MS Word, Excel, Access and Outlook including ERP experience

Must demonstrate the ability of effective communication skills in the Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Sales environments.
