Job Overview
Our client, one of the fastest-growing commercial solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) companies in the nation, is looking to bring on an experience foreman to lead a commercial solar installation crew and serve as the crew's lead electrician in support a portfolio of commercial solar projects in the Chicago area. This role is a contract role with our client that has the potential to turn into a full-time opportunity.
Job Responsibilities
- Travelling to project sites throughout Chicago and the surrounding areas
- Supervising crew members to ensure responsibilities are carried out efficiently and effectively
- Submitting order requests for materials and equipment, and overseeing and ensuring the procurement, maintenance, and installation of all electrical components
- Creating weekly job plan with crew responsibilities and objectives
- Identifying and mapping obstructions
- Planning and installing electrical and conduit runs and interconnections
- Testing and commissioning the systems
- Installing inverters (experience SolarEdge and other three phase inverters is a plus)
- Installing any additional systems, such as energy monitoring and communication systems
- Ensuring all safety standards are met and adhered to
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- At least 5 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- Experience with three-phase, 480 volt systems (or higher)
- Experience with power/utility shutdowns
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
- Communication, collaboration, and detail-orientation skills
Compensation
This Solar Electrician role is based on prevailing wage has an hourly wage of $70.00 to $105.00 per hour, plus overtime, dependent on where the work is performed.
