Position Summary
The Infant Room Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for infants. This position supports each child’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development while maintaining compliance with North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Division of Child Development and Early Education child care rules and Lisa’s Kiddiegarten policies.
Essential Responsibilities
· Provide attentive, direct supervision of infants at all times, maintaining required staff-to-child ratios and group size limits.
· Create a warm, responsive classroom atmosphere that supports secure attachments, trust, and healthy infant development.
· Follow individualized feeding, diapering, napping, and care routines provided by families and approved by the center.
· Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support sensory exploration, language development, motor skills, social engagement, and early learning.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized infant room, including sanitizing toys, equipment, sleeping areas, and diapering spaces according to center procedures.
· Follow safe sleep practices, shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma prevention requirements, emergency procedures, and all applicable health and safety rules.
· Observe and document children’s daily routines, developmental milestones, needs, and concerns, and communicate respectfully with families.
· Assist with maintaining accurate classroom records, including attendance, incident reports, medication documentation when applicable, feeding logs, diapering logs, and daily parent communication.
· Support inclusion and individualized care for infants with varying developmental needs, medical needs, cultural backgrounds, and family routines.
· Work cooperatively with co-teachers, administrators, families, licensing representatives, and other professionals to support children’s well-being.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32,640.00 per year
