Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Employment: Year-Round, Part-Time
Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience
Location: Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School (approximately 80 students)
Position Summary
Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Part-Time Evening Facilities Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, faculty, staff, and families.
Working after school hours, this position plays an important role in preparing the building for the next school day. The Evening Facilities Custodian helps ensure classrooms, offices, hallways, and shared spaces are clean, organized, and ready to welcome students and staff each morning. The successful candidate will support the mission of Mirowitz by taking pride in maintaining a school environment where learning can flourish.
Primary Responsibilities
Evening Custodial Duties
- Empty and remove trash and recycling from all classrooms, administrative offices, and designated common areas each evening.
- Vacuum all carpeted classrooms and administrative offices.
- Dust mop all hallways daily.
- Wet mop all hallways daily.
- Dust mop the gymnasium floor daily.
- Wet mop the gymnasium floor weekly or spot clean as needed.
- Spot clean doors, glass, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
- Clean and maintain custodial equipment after use.
- Ensure all assigned cleaning tasks are completed before the end of each shift.
- Weekly light dusting of classrooms.
- Monthly sanitization of student desks.
Building Care & Safety
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or repair needs to the Facilities Manager.
- Help ensure the building is clean, orderly, and secure before leaving each evening.
- Follow all school cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and security procedures.
- Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
- Experience working in a school setting is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to safely maneuver trash throughout the building and into the dumpster.
Requirements
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
