Duties
- Supervise children during play, learning activities, meals, naps, and outdoor time to ensure safety at all times
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum focusing on childhood development, social skills, and early education principles
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behavior, and daily activities
- Apply child supervision best practices, including behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Administer basic first aid or pediatric first aid when necessary and follow mandated reporting laws for any concerns or incidents
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing inclusive care
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development instruction and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) required; pediatric first aid certification is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Strong classroom experience with toddlers and infants, including childcare and daycare experience
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive environment
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
