Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, to foster independence.
- Collect accurate data on client behaviors, responses, and progress to inform ongoing treatment adjustments.
- Support clients during therapy sessions by providing positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies.
- Collaborate with supervising Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to develop and update individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ensure proper medical documentation is completed promptly.
- Foster a safe, engaging environment that encourages learning, growth, and trust for children and individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, special education, or related fields is preferred but not required; we provide comprehensive training for all new team members.
- Strong interest in working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and implement behavior plans accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and basic patient care practices is advantageous.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
- Patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude are essential for success in this role.
