Business Development Representative – K-12 Education Partnerships
Day & Knight Chess is seeking a motivated and personable Business Development Representative to help grow our after-school and enrichment programs throughout Southern California.
This position focuses on building relationships with elementary schools, middle schools, school districts, community organizations, and after-school program coordinators. The ideal candidate is comfortable networking, conducting outreach, visiting schools, and helping establish new educational partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect new school partnership opportunities.
- Visit schools and educational organizations throughout Southern California.
- Meet with principals, assistant principals, after-school coordinators, and district personnel.
- Present information about Day & Knight Chess programs and services.
- Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers.
- Schedule meetings and program presentations.
- Track outreach efforts and maintain lead records.
- Assist with partnership renewals and expansion opportunities.
- Represent Day & Knight Chess professionally within the community.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with in-person outreach and networking.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Southern California.
- Experience in sales, business development, education, nonprofit outreach, or community engagement preferred.
- Passion for youth development and education is a plus.
Compensation
- $25–$35 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Commission opportunities for each school partnership successfully contracted.

Territory
This role will focus on outreach and relationship-building throughout the Inland Empire, Orange County, and the San Gabriel Valley, including communities such as Corona, Eastvale, Norco, Riverside, Chino, Chino Hills, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Covina, West Covina, La Verne, Glendora, Walnut, Diamond Bar, and surrounding areas.
Schedule
- Part-time to start (5–10 hours per week).
- Flexible scheduling.
- Some daytime availability preferred for school visits and meetings.
- Potential for additional hours and expanded responsibilities as the organization continues to grow.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
