Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Drywall Estimator/Project Manager to join our growing team. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate drywall estimates by reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents using estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools.
- Analyze project specifications, material requirements, and subcontractor quotes to develop competitive bids that maximize profitability.
- Manage the entire estimation process, including quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing strategies utilizing Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
- Negotiate contracts and scope of work with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms while maintaining project integrity.
- Oversee project planning by reviewing construction drawings for accuracy, identifying potential issues early on, and coordinating with design teams.
- Lead project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates on progress, addressing concerns promptly, and managing expectations professionally.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, review safety protocols, and ensure adherence to contract specifications and quality standards.
- Utilize estimating software like Xactimate or HeavyBid for material cost estimating and project budgeting.
- Collaborate with the construction team to interpret technical drawings accurately and determine material quantities from blueprints for procurement purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing commercial drywall estimation and project management within the construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or equivalent; familiarity with Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of blueprint reading, construction drawing review, and interpreting technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability in cost management including material cost estimating, budgeting, pricing strategies, and cost control measures.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contracts while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheets for estimating data analysis), construction management software, and other relevant tools like Xactimate.
- Construction site experience coupled with a solid understanding of construction management principles including safety standards and quality assurance.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
