We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to support financial operations through account reconciliation, reporting, data analysis, and process improvement. This role plays an important part in maintaining the accuracy of financial records, monitoring servicing-related transactions, supporting government assistance payment programs, and strengthening internal controls. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations for financial accounts, including servicing advance accounts and government assistance program accounts.
- Analyze financial data to ensure bank balances accurately reconcile with accounting records.
- Investigate discrepancies, prepare supporting documentation for required adjustments, and follow through until issues are resolved.
- Research and correct reconciliation exceptions to maintain accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate with external partners to obtain documentation needed for timely processing of deposits and transactions.
- Prepare and process wire transfers related to recoverable servicing advances.
- Track receivables, reimbursements, and incentive payments from government agencies and other external organizations.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations related to servicing advances and portfolio performance.
- Conduct quantitative analyses to identify recovery opportunities and improve financial outcomes.
- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports to support management and business decision-making.
- Maintain clear process documentation and participate in cross-training to support team operations.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Three to five years of accounting, financial analysis, or financial services experience.
- Recent experience in an analyst, reporting, or similar analytical role within the financial services industry.
- Mortgage servicing experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting principles.
- Experience with mortgage servicing platforms (such as MSP) is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Pay: $32.00 - $33.00 per hour
