Responsibilities
- Set up and operate extrusion presses, ensuring proper tooling setup and machine calibration for optimal performance
- Monitor extrusion processes, adjusting parameters as needed to meet quality specifications and production targets
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, to maintain operational efficiency
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate profile dimensions and specifications are met
- Perform precision measurements using measuring instruments and quality inspection tools to verify product quality and consistency
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to safety protocols during machine operation, handling hazardous materials safely, and using personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Assist with machine maintenance, tooling changes, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating extrusion presses or similar manufacturing machinery s
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints
- Skilled in using measuring instruments for precision measurement and quality control in machining processes
- Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills, and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to operate hand tools and other machining tools safely and effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards through measurement accuracy and process adjustments
- Commitment to safety protocol adherence and continuous improvement in manufacturing practices
