American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT/RRT) with 2+ years of ICU experience and Epic charting experience for a night shift position.
-
Work in the Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit
-
Adult critical care and emergency department patient population, with preferred NICU exposure
-
Performs ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
-
Utilizes airway management devices including ET tubes, oral/nasal airways, and suctioning equipment
-
Performs arterial punctures and blood gas draws
-
Administers medication via aerosol setups, MDI, and nebulizer devices
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30-7:00

Rotating weekend requirement
-
No on-call requirement

No floating requirement

Minimum 2 years of experience required

ICU experience required
-
CRT or RRT certification required
-
ACLS and BLS certifications required
-
NRP certification preferred
-
Louisiana license required if applicable

Epic charting system experience required

Skilled in tracheostomy care and management

Experience with intubation and extubation assistance

Proficient in pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
-
Responsible for comprehensive respiratory care including ventilator management and airway maintenance

Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas draws and pulmonary function testing
-
Provide oxygen therapy and manage various oxygen delivery systems
-
Assist with intubation and extubation procedures

First-time travelers may be considered as there is no explicit restriction stated

Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate

Returning employees who previously worked as permanent staff must have a 1-year separation before being eligible for travel assignments
