Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our growing financial team. Duties
- Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns with precision and adherence to current tax laws and regulations
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations including general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and bank statements.
- Assist with financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making and client advisory services
- Maintain a good understanding of tax law, and the due diligence requirements for tax professionals.
- Has an understanding of confidentiality regulations on maintaining client data.
- Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus, but not required; Enrolled Agent, CPA certification or progress toward being an EA or CPA is preferred
- Proven experience in accounting and finance roles with a focus on tax reporting and compliance
- Strong knowledge of tax law, tax reporting procedures, and individual or corporate tax return preparation
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis
- Familiarity with Drake Software or other related tax software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial concepts.
- Effective client communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally
