JOB SUMMARY:
The Occupational Therapist shall be responsible for comprehensive evaluation, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for pediatric and adult patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. The Occupational Therapist collaborates with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care that promote functional independence, safety, and quality of life. The Occupational Therapist contributes to quality improvement, program development, clinical problem solving, and productivity initiatives while maintaining professional, ethical, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality patient-centered care.
Job Duties:

Complete screening on patients/clients as clinically necessary.

Patient/client evaluation is completed following receipt of physician’s order, per policy and procedure.

Contribute to interdisciplinary care plans and coordinate treatment with other disciplines.

Provide clinically and age-appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Evaluate patient response to treatment and provide feedback to the rest of the team.

Document the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment in collaboration with Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Provide patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence.

Supervision of occupational therapy assistants, occupational therapy students, and rehab techs, in accordance with the most stringent of regulations and guidelines
Requirements:
Required:
-
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy (OT) program with a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy

Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Louisiana

Active BLS certification or able to obtain within 90 days of hire
Preferred:
-
1 to 3 years of experience treating patients in an OT setting
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8-Hour shifts
