Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of Melt n Dip, building a strong team culture, driving sales, delivering excellent guest experiences, and ensuring the restaurant operates at the highest standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who can coach the team, manage labor and inventory, protect profitability, and create a positive environment for both guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Hire, train, coach, and develop team members and shift leaders.
- Create a positive, accountable, and high-energy work environment.
- Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable to Melt n Dip standards.
- Lead by example with professionalism, urgency, and hospitality.
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives friendly, fast, and memorable service.
- Handle guest concerns quickly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming restaurant environment.
- Build a strong local reputation through consistent service and quality.
Operations
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening, closing, cash handling, food safety, and service execution.
- Ensure all products are prepared and presented according to Melt n Dip standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and health department compliance.
- Monitor equipment, supplies, and restaurant conditions to ensure smooth operations.
Financial Performance
- Manage labor, food cost, inventory, waste, and controllable expenses.
- Review sales trends and adjust staffing or operations as needed.
- Drive sales through strong service, upselling, local marketing, and community engagement.
- Protect company assets and ensure accurate cash and reporting procedures.
Training & Culture
- Ensure all team members are properly trained on recipes, service standards, safety, and company policies.
- Build a team that is guest-focused, reliable, and excited to grow.
- Support employee engagement, retention, and recognition.
- Promote a culture of ownership, teamwork, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, café, dessert shop, or hospitality management experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people-development skills.
- Ability to manage fast-paced operations with urgency and attention to detail.
- Experience with scheduling, labor control, inventory, cash handling, and food safety.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and business needs.
- ServSafe or food handler certification preferred.
- Must be dependable, professional, and passionate about guest service.

The ideal Melt n Dip General Manager is a hands-on operator, strong coach, and positive leader who loves creating great guest experiences. This person takes ownership, solves problems quickly, builds strong teams, and treats the restaurant like their own business.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Ability to bend, reach, carry, and perform basic restaurant duties.
