A Program Specialist is responsible for the following:
- Supervise and support Program Managers and Direct Support Professionals
- Make sure individuals receive the care and services outlined in their plans (ISP)
- Monitor progress and review documentation for accuracy
- Lead and participate in care plan meetings
- Help individuals achieve their goals and stay active in the community
- Communicate with team members, families, and support coordinators
- Ensure services meet state and company standards
Community Participation Support:
- Supervises and directs CPS Direct Support Professional.
- Supervises Direct Support Professionals to help facilitate an individual’s inclusion in the community through experiences and activities.
- Create activity plans for the individuals, making sure they participate in the activities they enjoy.
Working Conditions:
- Work takes place in the administrative office, community, and residential homes as needed
- Responsible for covering shifts as necessary and completing other assigned tasks
- Required ODP/Departmental training
- Experience or ability to function as an HRST Rater and access HCSIS & EIM systems
A Program Specialist must have one of the following:
- A master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and 1-year work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability.
- An associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years of work experience working directly with individuals with an intellectual disability or autism.
Program Specialist qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license.
- First Aid and CPR certification, NADD Dual diagnosis certification.
- Trainings on areas of intellectual disability, principles of integration, rights and program planning and implementation, and fire safety protocol and procedures.
Pay: From $47,840.00 per year
