Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, powertrains, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, steering components, and wheel alignments.
- Conduct oil changes, tire services, wheel alignments, and suspension repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Specialize in diesel engine repair and auto body repairs when necessary to restore vehicles to their best condition.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools efficiently to complete repairs with precision.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Service GM vehicles and other makes/models with dealership experience preferred.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as fluid replacements, belt replacements, and system inspections following manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality expectations while maintaining detailed service records for each vehicle serviced.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and recommending appropriate maintenance plans.
- Assist in auto estimating processes to determine repair costs accurately when needed.
- Support the team in maintaining a clean and organized workspace conducive to safe working conditions.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair across various systems including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and suspension components.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable for familiarity with manufacturer-specific procedures and standards.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), auto electrical systems, and automotive diagnostics tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques along with experience working on GM vehicles is a plus.
- Skilled in using schematics for troubleshooting complex issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and auto body repair processes is advantageous.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance machinery.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
