Licensed Lawn Care Applicator
Responsible for diagnosing lawn issues, applying customized fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide treatments, and maintaining healthy, vibrant lawns for our residential and commercial clients.
Typical Work Environment:
Outdoor work, often in varying weather conditions (heat, rain, snow).
May involve early mornings, late evenings, and weekend shifts, particularly during snow seasons.
Schedule: 10-hour shift, Monday thru Thursday, with occasional Fridays. Hours may vary.
Key Responsibilities:
Application: Safely measure, mix, and apply fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides according to label directions and state/local regulations.
Lawn Assessment: Inspect clients' lawns on each visit to identify weeds, pests, diseases, or environmental stress, and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain turf equipment, including ride-on sprayers/spreaders, backpack sprayers, hose reels, and hand tools.
Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with property owners to explain services performed, provide post-treatment care instructions, and answer questions.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs of product usage, weather conditions, customer visits, and chemical application records as mandated by regulatory bodies.
Vehicle & Safety Maintenance: Keep assigned company truck organized and clean; perform pre-trip inspections and adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Snow Removal: Shoveling or using equipment to clear snow from driveways, walkways, and parking lots. Applying salt or other de-icing agents to prevent ice buildup. Ensuring safe access to properties during winter weather events. Operating snowplows or snow blowers when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Valid State Pesticide / Herbicide Applicator License or an active Pesticide Operator License with the ability to obtain full applicator certification.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold), and stand/walk for extended periods.
Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to safety protocols, dosage calculations, and equipment maintenance.
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
Commercial driver’s license (CDL).
