The primary responsibility of this role is maintaining the integrity and day-to-day operation of our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory and management systems. The role is built for someone early in their career who wants to develop deep expertise in emissions data while gaining exposure to regulatory compliance, data management, and AI-enabled workflow projects. We are looking for detail-oriented candidate eager to grow into a well-rounded sustainability professional by participating in global regulatory compliance, data management, and digital transformation initiatives (leveraging advanced IT and AI tools).
Location: Onsite at our San Jose office/headquarters 5 days a week
Responsibilities:
1. GHG Data and System Operations
- Collect, verify, and consolidate Scope 1, 2, and 3 emission data to maintain the integrity of the GHG inventory management system
- Conduct routine data quality QA/QC checks in accordance with internal inventory management plan
- Maintain and update emissions factor libraries and data structures aligned with global standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, ISO 14064) and regional legal requirements
- Assist in coordinating third-party external verification processes and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including at headquarters and subsidiary organizations
2. Regulatory Compliance Support
- Support data aggregation and evidence preparation for compliance with federal, state, and local ESG disclosure standards and regional climate regulations (e.g., California SB253, SB261)
3. Sustainability Initiatives and Workflow Innovation
- Conduct market research and benchmarking studies on emerging global ESG initiatives, policy updates, and industry trends
- Participate in pilot projects utilizing AI tools, automated workflows, and data solutions to optimize and streamline data collection processes
Requirements:
1. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher (degrees in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Sustainability Management, or related fields preferred)
2. Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in corporate sustainability, GHG data management, or a related analytical role
3. Core Competencies:
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage, analyze, and spot anomalies in complex environments (e.g., large datasets)
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and a comfort level adapting to enterprise data management software
- Coordination and Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with headquarters, and external stakeholders
