Reports To: Quality Manager
Position Summary
North Slope Telecom, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to support practical quality controls across telecom and infrastructure projects. This role helps project teams verify that work, materials, documentation, and deliverables meet defined requirements and are supported by complete, reliable records. The Quality Control Specialist performs, and coordinates assigned quality checks, maintains inspection and closeout documentation, supports nonconformance and corrective-action follow-through, and assists with field verification when needed. The right candidate is detail-oriented, objective, and comfortable coordinating with quality leadership, project management, engineering, field services, procurement, and document control in a project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Verification & Project Support
- Support assigned quality control inspections and verification activities for projects and operational work.

Review work, materials, documentation, and deliverables against drawings, specifications, checklists, and other defined requirements within assigned scope.

Prepare, maintain, and review inspection checklists, punch lists, inspection records, photographs, redlines, closeout records, and other objective evidence.

Verify completion of assigned quality checks and identify incomplete records, missing evidence, unclear requirements, or issues that require correction, review, or escalation.
Field Support

Support field quality checks, project-site verification, project closeout documentation, and coordination with field teams when assigned.
Documentation, Coordination & Improvement

Assist with nonconformance documentation, containment follow-up, corrective-action tracking, closure evidence, and escalation.

Coordinate quality-related action items with project managers, engineering, field services, procurement, warehouse, document control, and Quality leadership.
Audits, Records & Continuous Improvement
Support audits, records reviews, compliance activities, retention requirements, and practical process-improvement efforts.-
Identify recurring issues, quality trends, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
Education

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in quality control, construction, telecommunications, inspection support, project execution, or an associate degree, technical certificate, coursework, or quality-related training preferred.
Experience
- Experience maintaining records, checklists, project documentation, inspection evidence, or action-item trackers.
Knowledge& Skills

Working knowledge of quality control concepts, inspection records, objective evidence, project requirements, and nonconformance documentation.

Experience using document management, project collaboration, quality-records, or corrective-action tracking systems.

Ability to read and use project documentation, drawings, specifications, checklists, quality forms, and related records within assigned scope.

ISO 9001 and Lean Six Sigma awareness or experience using practical root-cause or process-improvement tools.

Clear, professional communication skills, organization, objectivity, accuracy, integrity, and the ability to manage assigned work, communicate status, identify risks early, and follow through on assigned commitments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools; experience with Bluebeam or similar PDF review tools, and document or quality-record systems.

Willingness to support field and project-site activities as required.
Working Conditions

This role is primarily based in Anchorage, Alaska, with regular collaboration across office and project teams.

For projects requiring Quality coverage, this role is expected to provide an in-person field presence throughout project execution, typically on a two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotational schedule with an alternate.

During field assignments, the role supports inspections, verification activities, closeout documentation, and coordination with project-site personnel.

Hybrid work may be permitted based on project needs and Quality leadership direction, provided communication, availability, responsiveness, and project support are maintained.
