The Universal Banker I provides superior and quality customer service by processing transactions efficiently and accurately while actively engaging with customers to identify needs and offer banking solutions. This entry-level role serves as both a teller and a platform banker, performing a variety of banking functions. The Universal Banker I will typically work Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturday shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing & Customer Service

Operates a teller station to serve customers by accepting retail and commercial deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, and providing accurate receipts.

Identifies customers and processes check cashing, referring to officers for exceptions as required.

Processes savings deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.

Issues cashier's checks, money orders, and other bank products.

Balances cash drawer daily and follows teller over/short policy.

Assists in branch opening and closing procedures as assigned.

Ensures compliance with security protocols and regulatory requirements.

All areas of customer service to include processing wires, disputes, issuing debit cards, etc.

Opens new personal and business accounts.

Makes a concentrated effort to resolve customer inquiries or issues promptly.

Actively promotes the bank’s products and services and refers customers to appropriate personnel.

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Cash handling experience preferred

Familiarity with online banking, debit card processing, and basic bank product knowledge.

- Prior banking or customer service experience is a plus
