Job Summary
Looking for someone with their own vehicle and our required equipment to do mobile detailing at the customers location, required to have previous professional detailing experience. Also required to have or acquire liability auto insurance. Job pays 50% commission of each job plus 100% tips.
Join On The Go Mobile Detailing as a Mobile Auto Detailer (Independent Contractor 1099) and bring shine and freshness to vehicles right at the customer's location! This role requires that you have your own vehicle, equipment and insurance. Equipment & Supply Requirements (Contractor Must Provide)
Contractors are required to supply and maintain their own fully equipped detailing setup, including but not limited to:
- Personal vehicle suitable for transporting equipment
- Air compressor
- Shop vacuum
- Pressure washer
- Machine polisher for buffing
- Drill gun with bristle brush attachments
- Step ladder
- Canopy (not required but strongly suggested)
- Wash buckets, grit guards, and wash mitts/brushes
- Clay bar or clay mitt
- Ozone machine (for odor removal)
- Carpet shampooer / extractor
- Long extension cords
- Long water hose
Required detailing products include (but are not limited to):
- All-purpose cleaner
- Leather cleaner and conditioner
- Polish and compound waxes for buffing
- Buffing pads
- Carpet and fabric cleaner and protectant
- Glass cleaner
- Car wash soap
- Shampoo/extraction solution
- Interior and exterior protectants
- Tire and wheel cleaners
- Degreasers and specialty products as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough interior and exterior vehicle detailing, including washing, waxing, polishing, vacuuming, and shampooing
- Clean and restore vehicle surfaces such as paint, wheels, tires, glass, upholstery, and trim
- Apply protective sealants, waxes, and other detailing products as needed
- Inspect vehicles before and after service to ensure quality standards are met
- Manage scheduling (if applicable)
- Communicate professionally with clients and myself or team members regarding services, expectations, and results
- Make sure customers are happy with the detail before leaving
- Dress professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment
- Follow proper safety procedures when handling tools, equipment, and chemicals
Requirements
- Must have reliable vehicle and valid drivers license with all required equipment and products.
- Must provide own vehicle insurance.
- Strong communication skills and good work ethic.
- Proven experience in automotive detailing (professional or strong personal experience)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Must be authorized to work as an independent contractor (1099)
All equipment and products must be in good working condition and meet professional detailing standards.
Experience
- Prior experience in car wash and auto detailing required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and courteously.
- Strong experience with detailing techniques such as buffing, polishing, pet hair, mold, moss, tree sap and interior cleaning.
- Experience with janitorial or custodial tasks that require attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record to travel between customer locations reliably.
