Medical Device Technician — Entry Level / Will Train
Overview
We are seeking a mechanically and technically inclined individual to join our team as a Medical Device Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, troubleshooting problems, working with computers and electronics, and figuring out how things work.
Previous medical device experience is NOT required. We are willing to train the right person.
Your background could be in HVAC, automotive, electronics, computers, electrical work, mechanical repair, equipment maintenance, appliances, fabrication, or you may simply be the person who has always been good at fixing things.
What matters most to us is mechanical aptitude, technical ability, problem-solving skills, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Our technicians work on sophisticated medical equipment incorporating mechanical systems, motors, electronics, computers, software, sensors, and other components. We will teach you our equipment and provide the training necessary to become successful in the position.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, service, repair, test, and maintain medical equipment
- Work with mechanical components, motors, electronics, wiring, sensors, computers, and software
- Perform equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose technical problems and determine appropriate solutions
- Replace and install components and assemblies
- Perform computer and software-related troubleshooting
- Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation
- Assist with the assembly and preparation of new medical equipment
- Learn how to properly service and maintain our medical technologies
- Follow established service procedures, documentation requirements, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of service and repair activities
- Communicate professionally with customers when providing technical assistance
- Assist other technicians, engineers, manufacturing personnel, and members of our technical team
- Maintain tools, equipment, parts, and an organized work area
- Continue developing technical knowledge as new products and technologies are introduced
Requirements
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with your hands
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working with computers and technology
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools
- Ability to learn mechanical, electrical, electronic, and computer systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Willingness to learn and receive hands-on training
- Ability to follow technical instructions, procedures, and documentation
- Comfortable working independently once properly trained
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- HVAC, automotive, electronics, electrical, computer repair, appliance repair, equipment maintenance, mechanical, fabrication, or similar technical experience is a plus but not required
- Medical device experience is not required
We are much more interested in finding someone with the right technical aptitude and attitude whom we can train than someone who simply has previous medical-device experience.
Optional Travel Opportunities
This position is primarily a technical/service position and travel is not a requirement for us to consider you for the job.
However, employees who are interested may have opportunities to travel as they become trained and experienced.
Our medical equipment is located throughout the United States and internationally, creating opportunities for qualified technicians to assist with installations, service calls, trade shows, customer training, and other projects.
Some employees enjoy traveling and others prefer working primarily from our Tampa Bay operation. You do not need to know today whether travel is something you would enjoy.
For employees who choose to travel and become qualified for those assignments, the company pays approved travel expenses in accordance with company policy.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
