Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine speech, language, motor, or developmental needs, utilizing your knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with each patient’s goals and needs, emphasizing early intervention techniques.
- Provide engaging speech therapy, physical therapy, or occupational therapy sessions tailored to pediatric populations with diverse conditions.
- Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care strategies and progress tracking.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, adaptive techniques, or communication strategies to promote ongoing development outside of therapy sessions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and assessments in compliance with medical terminology standards and healthcare regulations.
- Stay current with advancements in medical terminology, and therapy techniques to continually enhance patient care quality.
Skills
- Proven experience working with the geriatric population.
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques or physical/occupational therapy practices specific to elderly.
- Excellent patient care skills combined with a compassionate approach that fosters trust and motivation.
- Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to adult therapy.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and adapt treatment plans accordingly.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and educating families.
