Position Overview
We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic 2-Year-Old Room Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for working with toddlers and is committed to fostering a positive, enriching, and active classroom experience. This role requires patience, creativity, and a deep understanding of the unique developmental milestones of two-year-olds.

Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Toddler Activities: Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and sensory-rich activities that foster language development, fine/gross motor skills, and social sharing.
- Potty Training & Personal Care: Assist and guide children through early potty training routines, handle diaper changes as needed, and encourage independent handwashing and self-feeding.
- Classroom Management & Safety: Maintain a safe, clean, heavily sanitized, and organized classroom environment. Supervise active toddlers at all times to ensure their absolute well-being.
- Emotional & Social Growth: Support children’s emotional and behavioral development by teaching coping skills, gentle boundary-setting, and positive peer interaction.
- Compliance: Follow all Department of Children and Families (DCF) licensing regulations, staff-to-child ratios, and center policies.
- Parent Communication: Communicate effectively and warmly with parents regarding daily updates (milestones, behavior, eating, and potty progress) and collaborate closely with team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 45-hour DCF Certification (Required)
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or Early Childhood Education coursework (Preferred)
- Strong communication, multi-tasking, and teamwork skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain immediately)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain active, stand, walk, and bend for long periods.
- Comfortable lifting up to 30–40 pounds frequently.
- Ability to interact with toddlers on their eye level (sitting on the floor, kneeling, crouching).
