SUMMARY:
North Star Charter School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The SLP is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, fluency, and social communication disorders in students. The SLP works collaboratively with students, families, teachers, and the multidisciplinary school team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support students' communication skills and academic success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' speech and language abilities using culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment tools.
● Identify communication disorders and determine educational needs and eligibility for services.
● Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs and evidence-based practices.
● Establish measurable goals and monitor student progress throughout the school year.
● Provide direct speech-language therapy to students individually and in small groups.
● Address speech, language, fluency, voice, and social communication needs through targeted interventions.
● Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, special education staff, families, and other service providers to support student success.
● Participate in IEP meetings and contribute evaluation results, recommendations, and progress updates.
● Maintain accurate and timely records, including evaluations, therapy notes, progress reports, and other required documentation.
● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements.
● Educate students, families, and staff about speech and language disorders and effective communication strategies.
● Advocate for students' communication needs within the school setting.
● Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
● Participate in ongoing professional learning and training opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
● Valid Idaho Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure.
● Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred. Clinical Fellows (CFs) are encouraged to apply.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
● Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing evidence-based therapy.
● Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
● Compassionate, student-centered, and adaptable with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
● Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative school team.

Pay: $57,650.00 - $70,275.00 per year
