Location: Granite City, IL
Adventures with Rita Child Care & STEAM Academy is looking for a dependable, hardworking Part-Time Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility safe, clean, and operating at its best.
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys fixing things, takes pride in quality work, and understands that a well-maintained building helps create a great environment for children and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine repairs and general maintenance
- Complete preventative maintenance throughout the facility
- Repair drywall, paint walls, doors, and trim
- Basic plumbing repairs (leaks, faucets, toilets)
- Basic electrical repairs (switches, outlets, light fixtures)
- Replace ceiling tiles, flooring, and hardware as needed
- Assemble furniture and classroom equipment
- Maintain playground equipment and outdoor areas
- Complete monthly safety inspections
- Respond to maintenance requests from staff
- Coordinate with outside contractors when needed
- Assist with seasonal projects and improvements
Qualifications
- Experience in general building maintenance or handyman work
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to pass all required background checks
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
Schedule
- Part-Time
- Flexible hours
- Approximately 15–25 hours per week (depending on projects)
- Occasional evenings or weekends for larger projects
