Shoreline Periodontics is looking for a Lead Surgical Dental Assistant who is ready to become a key member of our specialty practice. This role combines advanced surgical assisting with leadership, patient education, and care coordination. What You'll Do
- Assist the periodontist during periodontal and dental implant surgical procedures
- Work closely with the doctor to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
- Educate patients about recommended treatment and help them feel comfortable throughout their experience
- Communicate with referring dental offices regarding patient treatment and follow-up
- Coordinate clinical workflow and help maintain a productive schedule
- Mentor and support fellow clinical team members
- Take digital X-rays and CBCT scans
- Maintain sterilization and infection control standards
- Help create an exceptional patient experience from consultation through surgery
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years of dental assisting experience
- Previous leadership experience or a demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
- A positive attitude and collaborative approach
- Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, surgical environment
- Passion for delivering exceptional patient care
- Desire to continue learning and growing professionally
Requirements
- Dental assisting experience required
- Connecticut Radiography (X-Ray) Certification
- ICE Certification
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols
- Experience with digital dental imaging
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
