Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup.
- Support the bussing team by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing area efficiently.
- Follow strict sanitation standards to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including proper disposal of waste and recycling.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of large pots, trays, or boxes of supplies while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Support overall kitchen health and safety standards by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the workspace.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is valued.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic food prep tools.
