Peaker Services, Inc. is searching for field service technicians who are dedicated to serving customers and willing to learn. As part of our team, you will work on various types of high-horsepower diesel engines used in power generation, marine, and locomotive applications.
Field service technicians apply the principles of mechanics, electricity, electronics, and hydraulics to perform troubleshooting, field repairs, rebuilds, and make technical decisions. The ability to communicate with the customers on-site throughout process as well as perform follow-up services is a must.
Field service work includes: disassembly, assembly, machining, welding, general fabrication, NDT inspection, wiring, and reading technical documents. This position requires all field service technicians be available on-call occasionally in order to respond to customer needs and may require traveling extended periods of time, including weekends.
Some travel may be required on short notice.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have mechanical experience and background to be considered
- Experience with basic measurement tools.
- Demonstrates ability to recognize materials used to rebuild engines and components.
- Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Demonstrates the ability to weld or the capability to learn.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a team.
- Employee provides own work tools (company partial payroll deduction for specialty tools).
- Willing to learn to read, interpret, and work from mechanical and electrical blueprints/schematics.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Able to lift 60lbs.
Preferred:
- Experience with technician’s instruments and tools, both mechanical and electrical.
- Experience reading, understanding, working from mechanical and electrical blueprints/schematics.

Pay: $25.85 - $38.55 per hour
