Ascend Ministries has openings for full time Drug and Alcohol Counselors at our Cheswick, PA location. This position requires weekend work.
Ascend Ministries is a Christian organization that offers a variety of recovery services that span the continuum of care. Our counseling staff, at all levels of care, are responsible for their primary caseloads and participate in the delivery of both individual and group services.
The Counselor will be responsible for:
- Completing client assessments
- Required: Sunday process groups for participants
- Weekly individual therapy provision for a caseload of 8 clients.
- Facilitation of Group Therapy
- Networking with various client systems including families, court members, probation officers, and social service representatives.
- Excellent documentation of services as required by program guidelines and regulatory standards
- Independently completing assignments in a timely manner while also actively engaging with treatment team members in order to best meet program goals.
- Participating in both individual and group super vision
Job Requirements·
- Bachelor's Degree with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, or related field preferred.
- Master's degree preferred.
- ASAM certification
- Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in counseling adults with substance use disorder.
- 2 years sobriety from any previous chemical dependency (if applicable).
- Must have a passion and appreciation for the Christian mission of Ascend Ministries.
- Ability to work well in a team
