Duties
- Operate CNC lathe machines, primarily Fanuc-controlled systems, to produce complex parts with high precision.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining.
- Program CNC lathes using CAM programming software and make necessary adjustments for optimal performance.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other precision tools to verify dimensions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing processes and reducing waste throughout the machining cycle.
- Assist with assembly tasks
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes, particularly Fanuc systems or similar controls.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming techniques and CAM programming software.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and apply GD&T principles effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments including plastics injection molding or welding is advantageous.
- Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, and other equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
