Position Summary:
The Research Associate II / Senior Research Associate will support the Analytical Development team by performing analytical testing, method development, and characterization of RNA-based drug substances, intermediates, and formulated drug products. This position supports multiple development programs, including early research through clinical development, by generating high-quality analytical data to enable process development, formulation development, stability studies, and product characterization.
The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contribute to the development, optimization, qualification, and execution of analytical methods for nucleic acid therapeutics.
Essential Responsibilities:

Perform analytical testing of RNA drug substances, intermediates, and formulated drug products using a variety of analytical techniques.

Execute analytical methods including chromatography, electrophoresis, spectroscopy, fluorescence-based assays, particle characterization, and other physicochemical characterization techniques.

Support development, optimization, troubleshooting, qualification, and transfer of analytical methods.

Analyze, interpret, and summarize experimental data and communicate results to project teams.

Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs), and technical reports in accordance with company documentation practices and ALCOA principles.

Support laboratory equipment qualification, calibration, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Manage analytical reagents, reference standards, laboratory inventory, and sample tracking.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Process Development, Formulation Development, Quality Control, and Manufacturing.

Present scientific findings during team meetings.

Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Primary Outcomes:

Independently execute routine analytical assays with minimal supervision.

Support development and continuous improvement of analytical methods.

Maintain high standards of laboratory documentation and data integrity.

Position Requirements:

Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related scientific discipline.

Experience Required: Research Associate II: BS with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.

Senior Research Associate: BS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience or MS with 2+ years of industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience supporting analytical development for biologics or nucleic acid therapeutics.

Experience with HPLC/UPLC, CE, Fragment Analysis, UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence assays, or related analytical techniques.

Familiarity with analytical method development and qualification.

Experience with electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN).

Experience supporting stability studies and analytical characterization.
-
Knowledge of GMP/GDP documentation practices is a plus.
