What you’ll do
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and air brake systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance on various heavy equipment.
- Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and conduct diagnostics effectively.
- Execute fabrication tasks and welding projects as needed to enhance equipment functionality.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, services performed, and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Basic qualifications
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and automotive repair.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including tractor-trailers and industrial equipment.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in a small family owned company as a technician is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, alignment, HVAC systems, and brake repair techniques.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform tire services as needed.
